Third-quarter results from
Ford Motor
are due after the close of trading Wednesday. They should tell investors something about the state of the U.S. auto industry.
Wall Street is looking for third-quarter operating profit of about $1.8 billion on sales of $36.4 billion. In the latest second quarter, Ford delivered operating profit of about $2.9 billion on sales of $38 billion.
