unit has reached a deal to buy Summit Health-CityMD in a deal worth $8.9 billion, including debt, in a bid to create a larger multispecialty platform for patient care.
The combination of Village MD, the drug store’s provider of primary care, with Summit Health, the parent company of CityMD urgent-care centers, will lead to more than 680 provider locations in 26 markets, the press release said.
